Lay Volunteers International Association (LVIA) started operations in 1966 and is currently headquartered in Cuneo, Italy. For more than 35 years, the organization has been engaged in the promotion of initiatives that foster solidarity, justice, and peace in different parts of the world.

LVIA works towards empowerment of people to develop more effective livelihood strategies, increase the value of their assets, and create new opportunities for living healthy and productive lives in high-risk environments. This is to be achieved by identifying and utilizing local resources, supporting local initiatives and innovations, and promoting appropriate technologies to tackle poverty in a sustainable way.

Activities and Areas of Intervention in Ethiopia

LVIA works in areas of Water Supply and Sanitation, Livestock Health, Natural Resources Management, Milk Processing Cooperatives, Technical Training, and Capacity Building & Institutional Support in the regional states of Oromia, Somali, and SNNPR.
