The mid term review of the second phase of the Arsi Bale Rural Development Project (ABRDP) took place from January to April 2007. The evaluation team weighted the current results and outcomes of the project based on the following indicators: - Context (review of the project context and environment) - Project preparation and design - Pertinence - Efficiency and effectiveness vis-à-vis planned achievements - Impacts and sustainability - Environmental protection and gender
The mid term review mission had the task to clearly indicate to the ABRDP executive staff, as well as to the Ethiopian Government, the Italian Cooperation, UNOPS and other relevant bodies involved in the implementation of the project the following: - The future role of ABRDP - Renewed strategic pathways to rationally phase out - Exit strategy clearly spelt out - Definition of an institutional setting to be adopted in the future - Policy areas improving sustainability clearly analyzed.
