The Italian Development Cooperation is in a period of rapid change and redefinition of the ways in which to operate. It's always increasing the interest of development actors towards the rejuvenation of the interventions and the introduction of innovative features that can improve the results achieved by the projects. Even in light of the current economic and financial situation, development aid is called upon to reconsider its action to ensure an effective and efficient use of resources.
Ethiopia is one of the 4 Countries in the world with the highest number of out of school children of primary school age and in spite of the considerable efforts that have led the primary school enrollment up to 85.4%, more than half of the children who attended school for two or three years are not able to read and write. For this reason, the Italian Cooperation in Ethiopia has initiated projects that exploit the potential of new media and information technologies in order to find new answers to the educational needs of the children in the most disadvantaged areas of the Country.
