Promoted programs (2013-2015)
Twelve projects were launched in Ethiopia since 2013 funded by the Italian Cooperation and implemented by the Italian NGOs in the Country. The total amount paid by the Italian Directorate General for Development Cooperation amounts to Euro 14,165,900.05. The contribution of the Directorate General for Development Cooperation accounts for 70% of the total cost of the projects amounting over 20 million Euros.
The areas of intervention include the priority areas for the Italian Development Cooperation, as identified in the Country framework Agreement for the period 2013-2015: food security, health, water and education.
The Italian Development Cooperation engages also in working in cross-cutting issues (protection of children and minorities and promotion of gender equality) in order to contribute to the sustainable development of the Country.
From the geographical point of view, the NGOs are engaged in particularly disadvantaged areas suffering from scarcity of infrastructures and services.
