The workshop on “Agricultural Value Chains in Oromia Project – Farmers Jumping into the Future”, jointly organized by the Oromia Trade & Market Development Bureau (OTMDB), the Oromia Bureau of Finance and Economic development (BoFED), the Italian Development Cooperation of Addis Ababa and the Overseas Agronomic Institute of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IAO), will be held Tomorrow in Addis Ababa.
The project ‘Agricultural Value Chains in Oromia’ is a multi–stakeholder initiative which aims at strengthening two Ethiopian value chains, i.e. durum wheat and forest coffee, in a strongly market-oriented scheme.
27 primary cooperatives and 5 cooperative unions are involved, along with the Sinana Agricultural Research Centre, regional institutes and political authorities which are actively accompanying the development process.
In line with the GTP, and just after one year from the project launching, farmers of Bale zone are taking the leadership of their economic growth and development endeavors.
The workshop will be the occasion to share encouraging experiences among all the stakeholders.
The Italian Ambassador H.E. Renzo Rosso and Dr. Dagnachew Beyene, Director, Agricultural Extension Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture will open the workshop.
