Out of this amount, 2.9 million Euros will be managed by the MoFED itself through the PSCAP Pooled Fund support, while Euro 100,000.00 are allocated to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association through the Multi Donor Trust Fund for the PSCAP Support Facility. In addition to this, further 250,000.00 Euros are available to the Italian Development Cooperation (IDC) to ensure coordination and supervision of the initiative.

Through this contribution, Italy confirms deep commitment in supporting the Ethiopian Government efforts to improve the scale, efficiency and responsiveness of public service delivery at the federal, regional and local level; to empower citizens to participate more effectively in shaping their own development; and to promote good governance and accountability. A range of objectives that the PSCAP has been pursuing through implementing seven sub-programs, respectively focusing on: Civil Service Reform, District-Level Decentralization, Urban Management Capacity Building; Tax Systems Reform; Justice System Reform; Expenditure Management and Control Sub-Program (EMCP) and Information and Communications Technology.

The IDC approval of the above mentioned contribution follows the positive outcomes of the medium-term joint monitoring mission on the Programme, undertaken by all the donors together with the Ministry of Capacity Building in 2007. On that occasion, IDC representatives were involved as external observers, assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities at that time.
